The Forbidden Forest:

A visual novel demo made in collaboration with a small team of artists, a musician, and one programmer/writer (myself). A labor of love, proving that teamwork makes the dream work.  My tasks in this project were:

  • Crafted and developed the game's concept, narrative, characters, scenarios, choices, and branching paths.

  • Created and maintained documentation specifying all the narrative features and content for the game.

  • Programmed the game using the Ren’py engine and Visual StudioCode.

  • Worked closely with a team of artists and a musician to craft the aesthetics and ambiance.

Red's Choice:

An interactive story made in Twine and inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, and my love of otome games. Made by myself, as an exercise for The Narrative Department's Writing Masterclass.

The Forbidden Forest:

Written in script format. For context, the player (you) gets some time down after a scary encounter. You talk to the handsome stranger who saved you from an angry beast in the middle of a mysterious forest. The peace doesn't last long though, as you find out you have a new problem on your hands now. Enjoy! (2 min read).

Red's Choice

Red’s Choice is a short narrative game I made in Twine, it features branching paths and 2 romantic interests. It’s based on the classic story of Red Riding Hood, but with a twist: Red has to choose between two people who are important to her. This specific excerpt is from one of the endings of the game where Red (the protagonist) and Grey (the wolf) work together to save the forest. It is implied that they have feelings for each other. The Elevator Exercise:

Ever wondered what if 3 of your favorite video game characters got stuck together in an elevator? This exercise I wrote as part of The Narrative Department's Writing Masterclass answers just that. Shepard (from the Mass Effect Trilogy), 9S (from Nier: Automata) and Sans (from Undertale) have to find a way out of the elevator. Enjoy! (5 min read).

Documentation

The Forbidden Forest:

The document ahead, made entirely by myself, includes all the information that was needed to make the demo of "The Forbidden Forest". The specifications for the story, art, music, and even the script for the game in Ren'py format are all included. This document helped all the members of the team be on the same page.
